Kingdom Klothes

I may have mentioned that I was working on Kingdom Klothes for my church. I was in charge of Racks and set-up this year. Kingdom Klothes is a consignment sale that we have once a year where people donate/consign clothes. We do a 60/40 profit with the 60% going to a ministry. This year our chosen ministry was Restoration Academy. We set up everything in their gym and had a great turnout.

I made two trips to Dillards in Tuscaloosa, they were going out of business and selling all of their furniture. I bought 23 racks and brought them back to the church. This was the first year that we opened carried men and women's clothes in addition to the children's. At the end of the sale the clothes that weren't sold got picked up by Hannah Home. It was really great to be involved with such a wonderful mission and I got so much more out of the sale than I put in!

Ash

This past Wednesday Ash and Matthew came into Birmingham for some family time. Paul was off playing Basketball on a traveling team and Morgan was on a cruise...yes, a cruise. Her friend Shayla took her on a cruise for her birthday!! We never had any friends like that growing up. I'm not sure what kind of cruise it was but Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, and Melinda Dolittle were all part of the entertainment.

Morgan Adams, Amy Grant, Shayla Cunningham

Ok, so we didn't get to go on a cruise but we still had fun. Mom, Ash, and myself all went and got manicures and pedicures. We then went to my house, popped pop corn, and watched Happy Texas and P.S. I love you. I've seen P.S. a few times and cry each time!

Well, mom and dad have returned from Alaska. They had a wonderful time with friends Terry and Paula. Here are some of the pictures they took.

Cat Scan

I almost cancelled the appointment for my cat scan the other day. The Dr. wanted a cat scan to make sure that I didn't have any residual infection left, well, it turns out that I do (an extensive infection as the nurse put it.)

I guess I won't be calling off the pulmonology appointment, no telling what they might find.

On a better note, my mom and dad just called and are having a WONDERFUL time on their Alaskan cruise. Look for some pictures next week.

It's working!!

I started on the NetiPot on Monday and it is now Saturday and I have been able to smell a little more each day. I went to the mall to check out some of the sales and I know people thought I was a simpleton!! I was walking around sniffing the air, I can't remember the last time I was there and actually smelled the fragrances at Bath and Body Works, the Cookie company, and the popcorn machine in the middle of the mall. My olfactory senses were on red alert. I was finally able to smell the playroom downstairs (todd says it smells like feet) and no matter how much I cleaned he could still smell it. Well, after finally smelling it myself I think we have to get the couch cleaned. All the neighborhood kids come over and play the 360 down there, take off their shoes, walk on the furniture and are just generally kids.

I had Emma and Nolan both use the pot this morning and both of them said they felt that they could breath better. Emma has such a slow flow on one side of her nose I know this will be able to help her.

Take me out to the ball game...you know the rest

Tonight we went to the Barons' baseball game at Regions Park. We got the tickets through the church, they had a section saved right behind home plate! I can't tell you the last time I went to a game, maybe the time my dad took us girls while i was still in junior high??? Anyhoo, it was a good game, the barons won, we ate (not hotdogs) at the park, and saw a lot of people we knew from church. At the end of the game the park had a fireworks display. I wasn't too sure about how good a show would be from the Birmingham Barons but I was proven wrong. They put on a fantastic fireworks show. I would say that it was as good as "Thunder on the Mountain" that B'ham does on Red Mountain on the 4th. it is so hard to get a good location to see those that it isn't worth fighting the traffic to try to see them.

We aren't going anywhere for the 4th; Todd is going to finish mom's hardwoods (it seems this has taken the most time and effort) and the kids and I will hang out.

Happy 4th to all!
