Can you feel the love?

This is Emma's look when dad didn't put enough chocolate syrup on her cheerios in the morning!! Doesn't the sound of that just make your teeth hurt? Todd got the kids hooked on this quite a while ago, as you can imagine it doesn't do wonders for the blood sugar level.

Todd has this week off before he starts his new job, and Saturday is Nolan's 12th birthday. We won't do a party until later so we'll have pictures then.

Oh Happy Day!!??

I forgot my camera at home...darn, so I can't show a picture of our girls night out. Camille, Lee and myself went to the Cheesecake factory to celebrate getting older. Lee and myself have birthdays in April. It was a perfect day and we decided to sit outside while we feasted on our meals. We walked around the outdoor mall area for a while looking at clothes and accessories we didn't need but would have loved to have. Camille's birthday is in December so now I have 10 more months worth of friends to get so that I can girls night out it once a month.

Emma had her nephrologist appointment this past thursday and everything looks great. There was no protein in her urine so we are staying on the same amount of medicine for now. She goes to her endocrinologist in May to see about the thyroid and to check insulin amounts. Todd and I have tried to be diligent about a bedtime routine with her so that one of us only has to get up once a night to check her. Having to do it two to three times a night is just not working. I guess after a while you get a little lax with some things so we are trying to get back to not eating two hours before bedtime so that we will have a good working number for bedtime.

Todd starts his new job in a week, same company but different department. We have prayed about this for over a year! This are really getting busy in the Nursery as I try to prepare for VBS in June.

Nolan received an A+ for his Washington report we had to do...YEA.

Keep in touch for more at the craig house......

The Getaway

It's actually our sixth year to do this trip and this way probably by far the best one. The weather was perfect...slight breeze and in the mid 70's. The first thing Ash and I did in the morning was take an hour walk on the streets and once on the beach. We would then come inside and watch one of our dvd's that we had rented, this was followed by lunch and another dvd. Around 2:00 we would go out and lay on the beach until 4 or 5. This was what Saturday looked like, it was the busiest day we saw on the beach.

Here is a list of the dvds we watched in no particular order...(we outdid ourselves on how many we watched this year...more movies and less time in the sun--we are getting old)

Death at a funeral - absolutely hilarious

Sad. It had a great cast and as always Sally Fields delivers a wonderful performance. It has some very good humor in it as a family learns to deal with the dying of their mother.

Ash fell asleep during this, as she does most movies. I had already seen it so I went upstairs to read. Dad actually stayed awake long enough to finish it.

We all enjoyed this one but it didn't get our highest marks. I love John Cusack films and thought Martian Child and 1408 were better than this.

I have to admit that at first I wasn't sure if I would like this one or not. Once it got going, I loved the quips that were used by Juno especially in the movie. There are as many good one liners off this movie as Raising Arizona and O brother where art thou. (That ain't no Etch A sketch.)

It is just funny. Dad had fallen asleep and missed most of it but when he saw trailers on the other movies he kept saying, "that looks good". It just a confirmation about what the geeky guys in high school did.

I like Will movies.

It's a great psychological thriller, be careful because you may find yourself adding up everything around you to see if the Number 23 is following you.

Loved this movie, made me cry when I found out it was an actual event.

Well, we should be good on movies for a while. Another tradition we have is to go out and eat one night. We did Bud and Alley's on Saturday and had some security guy talk our picture.

The last think we did on the way home was to stop and get a pedicure. Dad has driven us in the past on several occasions and usually falls asleep in the chair waiting on us. This time he actually got a pedicure. We warned the lady who was giving him his that his 71 year old toes were "virgin". She was still working on dad by the time they started my manicure. We told him that he was going to have to do something very manly next week to balance out the estrogen that seemed to have gotten hold of him. I guess it was inevitable, he lived with 4 women for so long!!

Next year Ash and I have decided to bike everywhere and we are also going to rent canoes and paddle around.

Moms weekend away

Well...it's that time of year. You know, the one where we moms actually get away from the daily grind and pamper ourselves. Our moms weekend away has always consisted of me, my sister Ashley, and my dad (Big Jer). Amy will be able to go one day but with the girls still little and being in school she will have to wait. Anyway, we are headed to Ruby by the Sea. This house is owned by a friend of Ashley's, we've stayed there before and it is WONDERFUL.

We have a few rules for our weekend getaway.
1. No one is allowed to call you mom.
2. No one is allowed to wake you up in the morning!
3. No one is allowed to ask you to do anything.

I think this is our 7th year to do this, we did have to take a year off because of scheduling problems. We leave Wednesday night and hit the beach as soon as we wake up on Thursday morning. Dad isn't a beach person so he takes a lot of naps and watches a lot of tv. We usually rent around 7-8 movies and do the "grab bag" technique of deciding which one to watch first. We also usually go to a movie, go out to dinner one night, and basically chill until Sunday afternoon. The weather is looking great for our visit and of course I'll be sure to take lots of pictures to share when I get back.

The Craig Clan

A few weeks back Todd's Grandmother and Grandfather Craig came to visit from South Dakota. Yes, people actually live there, why...I'm not sure. Anyway, they due to their getting along in age; they brought Craig Arthur, Todd's cousin, to help along the trip. The last time I saw G & G craig was when Nolan was a little over 2 years old, they have never seen Emma before. We went out to eat at Olive Garden and then came back to the house for a dessert.

The Painting

There is a woman here who does wonderful paintings of angels, her name is Gina Hurry. Since I can't afford Gina, I had one of my employees do a painting in the same style as Gina and I have it hanging in my office. Here is a picture of what she painted for me.
